Hello Yuletider! Thank you so much for choosing one of my fandoms! Please don’t think that section length has any correlation to any kind of ranking, I will be delighted with anything with these characters. Some just bring more wordiness out of me.

General Likes Hurt/Comfort, (LOVE h/c!) UST finally spilling over, first time/get together fics, unspoken feelings that stay unspoken but are blindingly obvious anyway, bedside vigils/general watching over someone, angst and uncertainty leading into happy endings, sneaking around, sex pollen, getting it on in the locker rooms after matches, dramatic rescues, pining, road trips, missing scenes/episode tags, time travel, Groundhog Day loops, True Love Saves the Day, 5 Things fics, wrestling soulmates (and pairings where one knows he isn’t the other’s soulmate and is okay with it.) If you would have told me this time last year by favorite thing going in NXT would be Sanity (SAniTY? I always get which letters are supposed to be capitalized wrong) I would have wondered what wrestling mirrorverse you’d escaped from. But here we are! I love these weirdos and their weirdo camaraderie and I really just want more with them. I don’t necessarily ship any of these three so feel free to let your gen flag fly, but I also don’t not ship them? Go with your story flow, is what I’m saying here. If I HAD to pick a favorite it would probably be Alexander? Maybe? He hits that same underappreciated, team player sweet spot that makes Erick Rowan my favorite Wyatt, and I really like his dynamic with Nikki especially. If you were thinking about “a Sanity member gets beat up and the others are homicidally concerned over it” type of story, Alex would be my preferred target. (And it’s pretty much his role anyway! The pin eaters always win my heart.)

Other possible prompts:

• Really any of the group being homicidal because someone got hurt, really. If you don’t want to beat on poor Alexander, roughing up Eric Young and the other three being wrecks over it in their own way would be great.
• Nikki, Killain and Alexander all hitting a county fair after a night on tour and scaring the carnies.
• Hurt/comfort after they all got beat up by CFO a few weeks ago.
• Origin fic about how Eric recruited Alex and Nikki (since we know how Killian joined!) Maybe a story night?
• Likewise, POV fic from Killian on why he threw in with them.
• I ship Nikki with both Ruby and Asuka, so maybe the guys trying to help her out there with dating advice? Which I’m sure would go well?
• Post-title win celebration!
• Roadtrip fic with everyone in one car and the required ill-timed breakdowns, detours and Waffle House terrorizing.
• Day off at Disney World.
• Sanity is a very international group, so any kind of culture clashes/sharing.
• I love supernatural fic in general, so maybe the three of them ghost hunting? (Maybe trying to figure out Adam Cole’s return from the after life? Or one of them finding something genuinely magic (something Bray or Finn left behind in the PC, maybe?) because that would go amazingly terribly.
• Just in general what these weirdos do in their off time!

Ring of Honor

Christopher Daniels

Frankie Kazarian

These two have been so great all year. The absolute rock solid loyalty is just the best thing and since Daniels is one of my favorites of all time anyone who loves him as much as Kaz does would be guaranteed to win my heart. I’m good with either gen or shipfic here, both are good as long that core is there. Anything along that spectrum, from best friends who have each other’s backs to been a couple forever and everyone knows it to Kaz has been pining for years and finally gets what he’s been longing for, etc. I’d especially be into Kazarian’s POV on Daniels – Kaz has known him since he was 21 years old and Daniels has been a near constant in his life since then, and he did so much to help Daniels finally achieve his dream this year.

Other prompts:

• ANYTHING centering around Kazarian’s Bullet Club fake out, especially Kaz dealing with the emotional fallout of having to let Daniels believe it. (Or alternately, the two of them planning it the whole time and cackling about the look Adam Cole would have on his face when he found out.) But I confess, I love the angst of Kaz having to be stone faced on an undercover mission. Was he ever tempted to stay with the Bullet Club, even just a little bit? (I’m a-okay with Adam literally trying to seduce him to the dark side here.) I’m big on the idea of Finn’s founding the Bullet Club resulting in a certain amount of demonic rot going on at its center – did Kaz get to meet the Demon? If so, how did it react to him being absolutely full of it? How did Kaz listen to that emotional promo right before that title match without wanting to die?
• The lead up to that whole thing, when Daniels doubting himself as he got closer to what everyone knew might be his last chance and Kaz not knowing how to help (aside from joining the Bullet Club, the most foolproof of plans.)
• Post-match celebrations after Daniels’ big win!
• Alternately, hurt/comfort after Cody took Daniels’ title and ripped his heart out in the process, especially considering how hurt and betrayed Daniels was by how the ROH crowd cheered Cody as he did it.
• Anything set during their current, us-against-the-world war against the ROH faithful, because I am the biggest sucker for us-against-the-world.
• Anything with Kazarian finding his place in the murderer’s row that is Daniels, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe. (I ship Daniels/AJ very hard and have for years, so if you do too I would most definitely be into Kazarian dealing with that. Especially if pining is involved. Maybe a soulmate AU where he knows he isn’t Daniels soulmate and has realized he doesn’t care? (Maybe his actual soulmate would be Adam or one the other Bullet Club guys and he turns his back on that?)

Lucha Underground

Drago

Aerostar

These two have been murdering me all season. As of this writing Ultima Lucha is still going on so we don’t know what kind of resolution we’ll get (if any! If could end on a cliff hanger!) so I would dearly love anything with Aerostar saving Drago, whether it follows what LU canon or not. Save him! I’m very OTP about them, please let them be happy for Yuletide (but absolutely pile it on before then!)

Alternately:

• Any story about how they met all that time ago, especially if it involves Aerostar time traveling and them meeting out of sequence, with the time Aerostar first meets Drago not being the first time Drago met him. (or vice versa)
• How Drago broke from the Snake tribe the first time. We know Aerostar knows about it, enough to be so sure Drago would never go back willingly – was he there for it? (Did he even instigate it somehow?) Or did Drago confess it all to him at some point?
• Drago on Aerostar’s space ship or in some other sci fi environment. Dragons in spaaaaaaace!
• Aerostar abusing time travel to save Drago, even/especially if there’s a huge cost to himself. Really any kind of time travel shenanigans – Aerostar erasing himself from the timeline, either accidentally or through Kobra Moon’s machinations or deliberitaly to save Drago (and then Drago saves him.) Groundhog Day time loops are also an excellent option.
• Aerostar is SO SURE he doesn’t save Drago in that heartbreaking scene with Fenix – what does he know? Has he already tried and failed by then (beyond what we get to see?) This is a good space for apocalyptic futures, especially if Aerostar eventually finds out he was wrong.
• They’re known each other 5000 years! Any story that fills in that gap: pre canon, between seasons, etc.
• Any kind of post-match celebration and/or hurt comfort.
• If you’re in an angsty mood anything with Drago’s captivity, especially if Kobra Moon used Aerostar to break him somehow. (Threatened him? Captured him and tortured him while Drago watched then wiped the memory? Drago following Kobra in an attempt to protect Aerostar would be amazing.)
• Anything with true forms – actual wings for Drago (wing kink is always welcome,) whatever Aerostar actually is, etc.
• Drago lurking around while Aerostar’s recovering from the broken arm, especially if it brings up feelings and memories he doesn’t understand in his current addled and leashed state.
• Really anything with Drago having feelings about Aerostar being hurt, even/especially if he’s the one doing it.

NJPW

Kenny Omega

Kenny is a beautiful mess of his own making and I haven’t fallen this hard this fast for a wrestler in a very long time. I love the legend-building he does, how he very deliberitly creates an image to project to the world and then warps everything to make it fit, including his own past. (Yes Kenny, Ibushi left you. He’s the bad guy here. That’s exactly how that all went.) I find his thought process fascinating and would love anything that explores how much of what he says he actually believes and how much of that bright-eyed kid who moved his whole life to Japan because he had to fight Kota Ibushi still exists. I love his ambition and the pride he takes in his work and would like anything that weighs that and his history making success against everything he had to sacrifice to get here.

I’m very OTP about the Golden Lovers but ship Kenny with basically everyone he looks at long enough, he has fascinating relationships with a large number of people (to me, anyway!) But if you don’t ship him with anyone, some general prompts first:

• A story about him joining the Bullet Club, something he’d said he had no interest in doing right up until he did it. What WAS his reason in the end? (Again, I’m a big fan of Finn’s Demon playing a part in Finn’s club, so actual Deal With A Demon fic would be perfect. Even Kenny says his soul is mostly gone, after all.)
• Anything about that pivotal moment where he jumps on the apron in the Kota vs AJ match and the awful fall out.
• Kenny post-G1 win.
• Alternately, post this year’s G1-loss.
• Anything before, during or post his big three matches with Okada. (All three, maybe?)
• Kenny dealing with the Bullet Club, both the good parts and the Tama Tonga parts.

Shippy options:

Marty Scurll

Marty’s crush can be seen from space, it’s fantastic. There are *goes to check* only three fics for them in total, so I am not kidding when I say anything is good here. Options:

• Kenny recruiting Marty into the Bullet Club. The Bullet Club is the hottest ticket in town, but what really sealed the deal for Marty?
• There is a gif I do not have handy where Okada casually approaches Kenny and Marty throws himself between them entirely unnecessarily, brandishing his umbrella while Kenny is enormously smug about it in the background. I LOVE it. Anything with Marty being protective of Kenny, especially if Kenny doesn’t actually need it, doesn’t want to admit he needs it, or some mix of one then the other.
• Anything with Marty having actual villainous superpowers and using them to save/protect/help Kenny, especially if he’s not actually supposed to do that, or fic where Marty is a vampire/shapeshifter/some kind of cosmic horror and Kenny finds out. (Also an excellent place for the Demon to appear!)
• If Marty isn’t the perfect excuse for a supervillain/fairy tale/Venture Brothers fusion I don’t know what is.

The Young Bucks

The Bucks’ loyalty to Kenny always gets me right in the heart. I don’t necessarily need Matt and Nick themselves to be together – I’m a big fan of them being a V-triad with Kenny in the center – but I’m totally open to it being a true triad.

• Anything with the Bucks putting Kenny back together after Wrestle Kingdom/Dominion/the G1. I can never get enough of the two of them being there for him.
• The two of them taking turns wearing him out so he’ll sleep, making a competition out of it and/or tagging each other in and out.
• Bullet Club drama! Maybe things finally come apart and it’s the two of them and Kenny versus everyone else. (maybe Chase stays loyal) Especially dramatic if they’re halfway across the world when it happens!
• Any sort of interplay between the Bucks and Kota in regards to Kenny (maybe they need allies when the Bullet Club breaks apart!) The three of them all have such intense relationships with Kenny and they have never been all on the same side. (Which granted is Kenny’s fault, although the Bucks would probably say it’s Kota’s for not joining the Bullet Club with Kenny – no heartbreaking betrayals if they’re all in this together, after all.) I’m also a huge sucker for injury drama as long as it’s not a dire injury (unless like deathfic it’s dealt with via magic, then go for it.) The Bucks and Kota all circling around each other because Kenny’s hurt and needs them would be great, or the reverse where Kota’s the one hurt and Kenny’s really not dealing well and now the Bucks have to prop him up.
• Really anything with the three of them all having to depend on each other, I love it.

Chase Owens

Aw, Chase. Like I said above, I have a soft spot for the pin eater of any group and no one eats more for the Bullet Club than poor Chase. He’s another one with a huge crush on Kenny – watch the way he looks at Kenny when they’re teaming and Kenny does his entrance pose down and the bits we got of Chase dealing with Kenny during the G1 were so charming. (Him utterly failing to save Kenny from Suzuki-gun and then redeeming himself in the match with Yano was a genuine tournament highlight for me.) I don’t really have a lot of prompts here! Chase POV on Kenny would be fun, and I’m totally here for the kind of dynamic where Kenny knows the crush is there and isn’t above taking advantage when his favorites aren’t around, especially if Chase knows what this is and is cool with it (or tells himself he is, anyway.) Chase is very into the Bullet Club and Kenny in his heart really isn’t, so that could be a fun dynamic to play with. And of course I’m there for actual, genuine mutual appreciation, unexpected friendships are some of my favorite things and Kenny could really use some friends lately.

Kazuchika Okada

Rivals becoming something more without either of them realizing it’s happening is a favorite of mine and Okada is such a good candidate for it. It makes sense to me that someone to admires walking charisma bomb Shinsuke as much as Okada does would be drawn to some of those same qualities in Kenny, especially with their relationship being both more contentious and more equal, so I’d love something where that dawning realization hits. Okada/Kenny is also interesting to me in that the last year of his life has really been defined by his rivalry with Kenny and their big matches, to the point he called Kenny out when he didn’t have to just be be able to fight him again after Wrestle Kingdom, but Kenny’s biggest rival is still arguably Ibushi (helped along by Kenny not being able to stop talking about Kota…or y’know. “Him.”) That has to rankle a little bit, wouldn’t you think? Especially for someone like Okada, who’s so used to getting exactly what he wants. Okada’s also another good candidate for “unexpected hero when the Bullet Club implodes” – especially if it happens when Kenny’s usual support system is far away. (Again, Kenny really could use some friends.)

Xavier Woods

This is technically cheating so I’ll try to sneak it in short and sweet.:D I really like the video game based rivalryship these two have and I’d love them running into each other at a string of cons and things gradually get more and more heated with each one (nothing like a deadly serious DDR tournament to get the blood pumping, after all.) Maybe the WWE secretly tasks Xavier with seducing Kenny away from New Japan but in the end Xavier catches feelings and can’t pull the trigger? (Maybe literally, in a Spy AU!)

Kota Ibushi

What a story these two are telling us, huh? I love how there is no such thing as over the top when it comes to the Golden Lovers, please go all out with their epic heartbreak. I’m really interested in them finding their way back to each other, either for good or just as a temporary pause in the hostilities that shows there might be hope for the future. Please throw every overdramatic soulmatey trope your heart desires in there: dream sharing, prophetic visions, telepathic soulmate bonds, go for it all.

Some options:

• Anything at all involving Kenny’s black heart and mostly gone soul, especially if that’s taken literally. Kota trying to save Kenny’s soul before it’s all gone for good or keeping the piece of Kenny’s soul he has safe, Kenny intentionally trying to blacken his heart further so he doesn’t have to feel any more (with the required unexpected consequences), etc.
• Anything set during the Tiger Mask W era, using the controversial theory that TMW was actually Kota Ibushi (we will never know for sure!) Go into how Kota convinced himself this was a good idea somehow as he used the opportunity to creep around Kenny, with either Kenny not knowing it’s really him due to the law of wrestling masks or Kenny knowing it’s him and Kota knowing he knows but both still pretending because those are the kind of good emotional choices these two make. Kota having to treat Kenny like a stranger would be wonderful angst, especially in any situation where Kenny is hurting and Kota can’t help reaching out to him.
• AU where Kota does sign with the WWE during/after the CWC and fall out from that, especially if there’s some kind of disastrous butterfly effect result and Kota has to undo that decision. Really, any kind of fic set during that time would be fantastic, especially if it involves Kota watching Kenny win the G1 from so far away.
• Absolutely anything involving that post G1 hallway confrontation.
• Anything involving Kenny jumping on the ring apron during that title match. Immediate fall out, Kota (or Kenny even) finding a monkey’s paw and trying to undo it with disastrous results, Groundhog day story where Kota tries to change the results of that day only to get stuck in a loop, an AU where Kota wins that title despite Kenny’s interference (or Kenny never interferes) and what the fall out of that would have been.
• Jim Cornette finding a dread grimoire (I’m sure Kevin Sullivan could lend him one) and wishing that Kenny had never been born, leaving Kota with strange dreams he doesn’t understand and a mystery to unravel.
• Anything at all where Kenny is an actual angel with one wing and/or Kota really is a golden star. (Stardust AU? Lucha Underground crossover team up with Aerostar? Fairy tale AU?)
• Hurt/Comfort where Kenny is trying to hide an injury but Kota knows him too well for that.
